Manager Darren Moore continues to oversee regular incomings this summer as Sheffield Wednesday look to mount a successful promotion challenge next season.

Sheffield Wednesday have made a raft of signings this summer but Famewo’s is unique because they have paid a fee for him unlike the others who were snatched on free transfers.

The club did not disclose the amount paid for his acquisition but now the price as well as the length of his contract has come to light.

Wednesday paid Norwich City around £50,000, plus add-ons, for the services of Famewo as they added a defensive reinforcement.

Famewo has signed a three-year contract with the Owls and could take to the pitch as early as Friday, with Wednesday having a friendly scheduled with Harrogate Town.

The new Owls signing spent the previous two seasons in League One with Charlton Athletic and made 49 combined appearances in the league across the two campaigns.

Famewo is the third centre-back signing of the summer for Wednesday, joining Ben Heneghan and Michael Smith, both of whom also played in League One last season.
