The Red Devils have already seen a €45m bid rejected by Ajax and went in with a new offer on Thursday evening.

Manchester United’s latest bid touches the €50m figure that Ajax have been demanding before they would agree to sell Martinez this summer.

The Ajax management and their supervisory board will meet today to discuss the latest offer from Manchester United.

And it has been claimed that the Red Devils are confident that the bid will be accepted by the Dutch champions.

Ajax have been insisting on banking €50m from the defender’s departure and Manchester United have agreed to meet that figure.

Arsenal are also interested in Martinez but are yet to make a move to rival Manchester United’s bid.

Martinez has told Ajax that he wants to leave in favour of a move to the Premier League and prefers a transfer to Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag is a big factor behind the Argentine’s willingness to join the Red Devils this summer.
