The 18-year-old left-back made 20 appearances for the Liverpool Under-18 side last season in the Under-18 Premier League and scored six goals, providing two assists.
Last summer, Chambers signed a professional contract with the club and on Tuesday, Chambers made his debut for the first team as he clocked up 30 minutes of game time under his belt against Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United in Bangkok.
Chambers admitted that the game against the Red Devils in front of a huge audience was a great challenge for him, but he stressed that the experience will be beneficial moving forward.
The 19-year-old expressed his desire to remain close to the first team and his determination to take advantage of any first team opportunity that presents itself.
“It’s something new with all the fans and putting yourself up against the best is what I wanted”, Chambers told Liverpool’s official site.
“I think it was a really good test for me and I think I took a lot out of the game.
“That’s one of my goals – to try to be in and around the first team as much as I can.
“And when I do get opportunities, I need to take them as best as I can.
“It wasn’t the result we wanted but I think the lads and I can take a lot of experience out of it and I think it has been a really good lesson for me.
“We are off to Singapore now, so that should be good, and then I’m just looking forward to the next game against Crystal Palace.”
Chambers will travel with the rest of the Liverpool squad to Singapore and he will be eyeing a spot in the first team against Crystal Palace on 15th July.
