Broja has left Chelsea’s training base in the United States and is heading back to England as he looks to finalise a move away from the club.
Chelsea are suggested to want to send Broja out on loan for the season, with supremo Todd Boehly feeling it could add millions to his value.
West Ham however are keener on a permanent agreement and that is a solution that Broja also favours.
He wants to join the Hammers on a permanent basis and is pushing for a straight transfer to the London Stadium.
If West Ham cannot convince Chelsea to sell Broja, they are likely to want at a minimum an option to buy him including in the agreement.
Broja spent last term on loan at Southampton and the Saints had been keen to keep hold of him.
Newcastle United have also chased Broja this summer, but the Magpies look set to lose out to West Ham.
