The Magpies have spent more than £52m to secure deals to sign Nick Pope, Matt Targett and Sven Botman in the summer.

 

Newcastle have about £100m to spend in the market and the club are in pursuit of forwards in the ongoing transfer window.

 

 

However, Newcastle have faced frustrations in their pursuit of forwards such as Alexander Isak and Moussa Diaby and they have abandoned the idea of signing either of the two players.

 

But it has been claimed that Newcastle are still not close to getting a deal done for any other player this summer.

 

 

The Magpies are drawing up their shortlist and have been in contact with agents and clubs over other attackers.

 

But there is still no breakthrough in talks and there is no imminent arrival of a player at Newcastle at the moment.

 

 

Newcastle are pushing to sign more players and Eddie Howe would ideally like to add two more forwards.

 

But the club are prepared to splash the rest of their budget on a single attacker if they get the player they want.
