Bailly is a player Manchester United are looking to move on before the transfer window slams shut on 1st September.
Clubs such as Roma, AC Milan and Valencia have made enquiries into signing the defender this summer but his future remains unresolved.
West Ham are also interested in signing the defender, but Marseille are the club who are pushing to take Bailly to France.
They are keen to sign him on loan with an option to buy and according to French sports daily L’Equipe, they want the purchase option linked to his performances.
The French giants are in talks with Manchester United and have discussed the parameters of the purchase option.
They want it linked with the number of appearances he would make and the team potentially qualifying for Europe again this season.
Bailly is open to the challenge of joining Marseille but the club will still have to find a way to meet his €5m per year salary expectations.
Manchester United were reluctant about a loan deal earlier in the summer but are now prepared to agree to it in order to move the defender on.
