The midfielder spent the latter half of last season on loan at Roma and is in the final year of his contract at Arsenal.

The Gunners want to sell him before the window closes next week and he is being shopped around in the Premier League.

Several Premier League clubs have been sounded out by the player’s representatives over a potential transfer this summer.

And it has been claimed that West Ham are amongst the teams who have been offered the chance to sign the 24-year-old midfielder.

David Moyes is open to making more additions to his squad in the coming days and West Ham are keeping tabs on Maitland-Niles.

However, the midfielder is not a priority target for the Hammers as the club have other more pressing needs and are focusing on other deals.

They could consider signing the Arsenal midfielder if they fail to land their targets over the next week.

Maitland-Niles wants a new challenge and is hoping to seal his exit before the window closes on 1st September.
