The American tactician took over a relegation-threatened Leeds United team from Marcelo Bielsa in February and they narrowly escaped the drop on the last day of the previous season.
Victor Orta and Marsch are working to bolster Leeds’ squad over the summer; they have already added seven players to Leeds side this summer, and they are still searching for a striker.
The Whites are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table and Lampard praised Marsch for the work the American has done at Leeds since his arrival.
The Everton manager is of the opinion that Marsch has managed to reinvigorate Leeds squad with good summer recruitment and stressed that the Tuesdays encounter at Elland Road will be a tough challenge for the Toffees.
“They lost at the weekend but they’ve made a good start”, Lampard told Everton TV.
“I watched their game against Chelsea and they’ve got such an energy about them that they’ve had since Bielsa’s time and fair play to Jesse Marsch, who has come in, kept them up and it feels now as a squad and as a club that he’s invigorated them with some good signings and passion and coaching, which I don’t see but you see a reflection of it on the pitch.
“It’ll be really tough.
“An evening game on a Tuesday night at Elland Road… It’s going to be a tough game, no doubt.”
Everton are undefeated in last three games against Leeds United and in their most recent encounter the Toffees came victorious over the Whites 3-0.
