The striker has already expressed his frustration with the Dutch club over their continued stubborn refusal to accept any proposal for him.
Groningen signed Larsen in the summer of 2020 and he has impressed for the Dutch side, especially last season when he scored 14 goals in the league.
Middlesbrough want to bring in another striker this summer to enhance their frontline and Larsen is a target for them.
However, other than Middlesbrough, Celta Vigo are also interested in him, while Italian sides Bologna and Salernitana are also thought to be keen.
Groningen have now refused an offer of €10m for the striker from Celta Vigo, according to Dutch daily De Telegraaf.
The striker is left confused by the Dutch side’s decision and does not understand their refusal of the offer from Celta Vigo, which also included an additional million in achievable bonuses as well as sell-on clause of 15 per cent.
Middlesbrough have already walked out on one deal for a striker recently due to a high asking price, Preston North End’s Emil Riis Jakobsen, and with Groningen’s demands they may miss out on Larsen too.
