The Saints have been busy in the closing stages of the transfer market and are working on and close to a number of deals.
Bade is one of the targets they are hoping to sign before the window closes and they are in talks with Rennes for his signature.
The centre-back has been linked with Leicester City, Brentford and Bournemouth this window, but it looks like he may end up with Southampton.
Southampton went in with a loan offer for Bade to Rennes and the French club have agreed to it, according to French sports daily L’Equipe.
The loan will be season-long, while Southampton will have an option to buy the centre-back for €14m at the end of the campaign.
While the two clubs have come to an agreement, Bade has yet to give his yes to the loan move and nothing is set in stone yet.
Bade has made only one appearance for Rennes this season, but he did get an assist in that game, and it remains to be seen what his decision is in regards to a move to Southampton.
