Freeman signed on for Portsmouth in the summer last year but courtesy of an ankle injury missed almost the entirety of the latter half of the past season.

The right-back signed for Portsmouth on a two-year deal but his future was thrown into doubt earlier in the summer.

League Two club Doncaster Rovers are interested in taking on the defender this summer but it seems they will not get their man.

Freeman is likely to stay at Portsmouth beyond the window and play a part for manager Danny Cowley this season.

Doncaster Rovers are hoping to bounce straight back to League One following relegation but they will not have Freeman’s help.

Freeman made 19 appearances in League One last term before his injury but has yet to get off the mark in the third tier this campaign.

The club do have the option to extend Freeman’s deal by one year but it remains to be seen if they exercise it.
