The promising 16-year-old has attracted the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea with his commanding displays in the Arsenal youth set-up.
Nwaneri became the youngest player in the history of the Premier League to feature when he came on as a last-minute substitute against Brentford in September; he was only 15 years and 181 days old at that time.
Although he has not been brought onto the pitch by Mikel Arteta since the Brentford match, he still trains with the first team and also travelled with the senior team in December for the mid-season tour.
Now Arsenal are confident about keeping hold of the 16-year-old midfielder at the club, even though he has multiple admirers.
It has been suggested a new deal to extend his Emirates stay is very close to being completed despite attractive offers from Manchester City and Chelsea on the table.
Nwaneri is in the final week of his schoolboy contract with Arsenal which is valid until Friday.
Arsenal tabled an alluring offer for him in recent days which would make sure he stays put at the Emirates.
It has been suggested that Arteta, Per Mertesacker and sporting director Edu were in talks with the player’s camp about a contract extension.
