The Reds had a season to forget last term domestically and in Europe but ahead of the new campaign they are showing ambition in the transfer market.
Liverpool’s midfield was their weakest link last season, as the likes of Thiago Alcantara and Naby Keita missed chunks of the term due to injury, while Fabinho and Jordan Henderson were lacklustre.
And Jurgen Klopp is focusing on strengthening midfield and two midfield stars have already been signed.
Now, the Merseyside outfit are willing to add more depth to their midfield, as they are advancing in talks with Lavia’s camp.
It has been claimed that the green light for the deal on the player’s part is now not far off and the Reds are trying to grab hold of Lavia for the first summer camp with the squad.
Saints are ready to accept an offer of around £50m; it has been suggested that Liverpool’s first offer will be well shy of that amount.
The 19-year-old Belgian was a bright spark in the relegated Saints team and it remains to be seen if Liverpool will be able to strike a deal for Lavia in the upcoming weeks.
