Eddie Howe has still managed to retain strong support amongst the Newcastle United domestic powerbrokers and there is no certainty that he would be sacked even if he loses the next six games, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Newcastle have lost four of their last five Premier League games and they have plummeted down to eighth in the league table.

The Magpies have also crashed out of Europe and the EFL Cup and are staring at a difficult second half of the season.

There are suggestions that Howe’s future at Newcastle will soon come under the scanner if their form does not improve any time soon.

They face a huge January with games against Liverpool, Sunderland, Manchester City and Aston Villa, with the first two matches in February coming against Luton Town and Nottingham Forest.

There is no appetite to sack him however and Howe continues to retain strong support from the domestic powerbrokers at Newcastle.

They still see him as their long-term manager and do not want to sack him in the near future.

It has been claimed that even if Newcastle lose their next six games, there are no guarantees that Howe would be sacked.

The position of majority shareholders PIF though is likely to be key to Howe’s future.
