Former Club America star William da Silva is certain that West Ham will receive offers to sell Edson Alvarez from big clubs in the near future.
Alvarez joined West Ham from Ajax last summer and has emerged as one of the pillars of David Moyes’ side this season.
He has been ever-present in the team whenever he has been available to play and has played a part in helping the Hammers move on from the loss of Declan Rice.
Alvarez’s performances in the middle of the park have been revelation and Da Silva, his former Club America team-mate, is not surprised to see the Mexican do well in the Premier League.
He stressed that Alvarez has been a brilliant signing for the Hammers and given how his game suits the modern style of football, he would not be surprised if West Ham receive big money offers for the Mexican soon.
“I told him he was on the right path, that he was planting seeds for the future every day in training”, Da Silva told The Athletic.
“He was a great signing for West Ham and he will make a name for himself there and in England.
“West Ham will receive offers for him because his game is so perfect for the modern game.
“I hope that he has a very happy career.”
Alvarez signed a contract until 2028 with West Ham last summer and the club are unlikely to want to sell him any time soon.
