Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga’s loan stay at Augsburg could be terminated this month.

The 24-year-old defender joined the German club on loan last summer in the hope of playing more first-team football.

However, he is yet to feature for Augsburg and has been continuing to struggle with a knee injury in Germany.

It has been claimed that his injury is more serious than it was previously anticipated and he could return to Tottenham soon.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, his loan in Germany could be terminated this month due to his troubles.

Tottenham are deliberating over what to do with Augsburg as Tanganga continues to be on the sidelines.

His injury and the lack of football means that Spurs and Augsburg could agree to end their loan agreement early.

If he returns to Spurs, Tanganga’s injury will be assessed before a decision on whether to try and loan him out again this month is taken.
