Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has insisted that the club are still not in a position to announce anything with regards to the potential arrival of Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho loan.
Sancho is keen to return to Dortmund this month after getting banished from the Manchester United squad for disciplinary reasons earlier in the season.
Manchester United and Dortmund are in talks over a loan deal that would see the Red Devils paying the lion’s share of his wages during his stay at the Westfalenstadion.
A deal was thought to be close to getting agreed upon last week and Sancho was even expected to join Dortmund’s camp in Spain on Friday.
However, there has been a hold-up and Watzke insisted that talks are still ongoing between the two clubs.
But he conceded that Dortmund are not in a place where they could make any announcement about Sancho’s arrival.
Watzke was quoted as saying by Sky Deutschland: “We are in discussions with Manchester United.
“We want to bring him on loan and that’s no secret.
“But we are not yet ready to announce a result.”
Dortmund are unlikely to have any option to make the move permanent in the potential loan deal.
