Portsmouth CEO Andy Cullen has admitted that Pompey are in the market to find a replacement for Alex Robertson.
The Fratton Park outfit signed Robertson on a season-long loan in the summer from Manchester City and the midfielder established himself as a regular in the Portsmouth starting line-up.
Pompey received a blow when early in early January, Robertson suffered a hamstring injury in training which ruled him out for the rest of the season
Cullen pointed out that when Regan Poole suffered an injury early in November, Portsmouth failed to do much due to limited options in the free agent market.
But he admitted that Portsmouth are actively seeking replacements for Robertson in the ongoing window.
“We go into a run now of three away and if we can get something out of that, that will set us up nicely for when we return to Fratton Park in February for when we play Northampton”, Cullen told The News.
“Being in a transfer window, we are also in a position where we can affect things.
“With Regan’s injury in November, you couldn’t do too much about it at that particular time.
“Now it’s January and, with Alex Robertson’s injury, we can do something about it – and that’s what we are seeking to do.’
Following Robertson’s injury, Portsmouth have failed to win any games and John Mousinho will be hoping to bring a replacement to Fratton Park as soon as possible.
