Paris Saint-Germain are not in talks with Bruno Guimaraes over a potential move for the Newcastle United midfielder in the January transfer window, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
The Brazilian midfielder is widely seen as a player that could bring in substantial cash for Newcastle if they choose to cash in on him.
Newcastle are struggling with the financial constraints put in place by the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules and are struggling to bring in even loan signings in this month’s window.
The Magpies could likely to have sell one of their prized assets to increase their spending capacity and there are suggestions that Guimaraes’ agent has been in talks with PSG over a move this month.
However, it has been claimed that no such talks are taking place between the Brazilian midfielder’s camp and PSG.
A move in January is not expected to take place and the midfielder is likely to stay put at Newcastle for the rest of the season.
But he has been heavily linked with a move away from the Magpies in the summer transfer window.
PSG are likely to be in the race for him if Guimaraes leaves Newcastle at the end of the season.
The midfielder has been in Paris this month on a break.
